History

The youngest child and only daughter of Edward and Mary Charleston, born nine years after her eldest brother and four years after her youngest brother, Phoebe (or Fee, as she prefers to be called) lived a rather charmed life. As a lawyer, Edward is quite the provider for the family, and they live in the Windsor neighborhood. Fee's parents and three older brothers doted on her, and she wanted for nothing. When she discovered ballet at the age of four, her parents immediately enrolled her in classes, and she fell in love with it, a love affair that continues to this day.

Fee was the unnoticed member of the family. She had a remarkable talent for blending in with her surroundings (except when she was on stage, at which point she demanded the spotlight), so she tended to be forgotten. As she grew up, she became known for what was happening to her family, as her family life took a less-than-idyllic turn. When she was seven years old, eleven-year-old Alan was biking down a steep hill when his brakes stopped working. He hit a rock at the bottom of the hill and was pitched over the front of his bike, fatally breaking his neck. His death devastated Fee, because she was closest to him of all her siblings. However, his death also brought the rest of the family closer together, and Fee began to grow closer to Harry.

Four years later, when Fee was eleven, seventeen-year-old Harry failed every one of his classes, dropped out of school, and ran away to New York City rather than stay and face everyone in town who'd always seen him as "brilliant Harry Charleston." Eldest brother Daniel had also left Apple Creek, though his departure was more amicable: with aspirations of being a screenwriter, he had left for Hollywood after graduation. Once Harry left, as well, Fee was alone with just their parents. He does, however, write to her regularly.

Not that Fee minded being alone. Save for Harry, Fee preferred being alone to being around other people. She also had her dancing to concentrate on, even moreso since Daniel and Harry aren't particularly succeeding: she feels that she has to succeed for all of them.

For Fee, high school has been a great disappointment. She finds her peers to be hopelessly immature and childish, and the highlight of her day is always her dance classes. She loaded her schedule down with them, taking one a semester for her entire time at ACSH. In her freshman year, she auditioned for the Dance Team and secured a spot, and in her junior year, she was made Captain, a position that she cherishes and would fight to the death to keep.
