History
- Middle son of a muggleborn and a half-blood. His mum has given up on having girls, three boys were enough. She hopes they'll marry nice girls so she at least has daughters-in-law.
- Dirk worked his way up in the Ministry until he was the Head of the Goblin Liaison Office. He's tried to teach his sons gobbledegook, but none of them has their father's ear for language.
- Growing up, Samuel was interested in following their dad into the Ministry, Thomas was interested in joining their mum in the family business... and Rupert was in the middle not knowing what he wanted to do. So he started trying everything, in an attempt to find his thing.
- By the time he went off to Hogwarts, Rupert still had no idea what he was interested in. Third year, he signed up for as many electives as he was allowed. He wasn't the most studious (at least when it came to his actual classes), so his marks were never the best. He would often get distracted from classwork by learning about his newest obsession. He tried out just about every club, usually only for a few weeks before dropping it. He's rejoined a lot of those clubs just about every year.
- Last year, he was just barely too young for the tournament because of his birthday being right after Halloween. He tried crossing the age line but couldn't get in. It was probably for the best, anyway. He cheered Cedric on. He hadn't paid much attention to Potter up until that year, but was dying to know how a kid so much younger than him managed to get past the age line. He did have a Potter Stinks badge for a while, but tossed it after the first task (still didn't really cheer for Potter, though).
- He was as shaken by Cedric's death at the end of the tournament as everyone else was. Not just by his death (and the knowledge that if he'd managed to get past the age line and been picked, it could've been him), but by what Potter and Dumbledore were saying: that YKW was back. He knows how dangerous it would be for his dad, but also him and his brothers, if YKW really was back.
- Now that he's back at Hogwarts for his final year, he's more stressed than ever before. Potter and Dumbledore keep claiming YKW is back (though his dad and older brother say that's not true). And he still has no idea what he's going to do next summer when he's done with school. His dad keeps offering to get him a job in the Ministry, but Rupert isn't sure he wants to spend his life there.

- Sometimes forgets to stop and eat. Has to be reminded of mealtimes. Occasionally has to be reminded that he has class.
- Has picked up a wide variety of talents and a grab-bag of knowledge. There isn't much depth to his knowledge but great breadth instead.
- Can often be found napping under a tree somewhere, because he's usually awake until all hours of the night reading up on his latest obsession.
