History

- Geralt & Máirín both grew up in Donaghadee, Northern Ireland, a small town with an excess of pubs.
- Didn't really get to know each other until they were both working at Dock o'the Dee when he was 25 and she was 22.
- Fell in love, got married.
- February of 1953 (3 years after they'd first met, 1.5 years after they got married), twins Caoimhe and Doyle were born (Caoimhe older by about six minutes)
- Owner of Dock o'the Dee was a friend of Geralt's father, left the pub to Geralt & Máirín when he died in 1960.
- Times were up and down for the Sullivan family, reflecting the up and down times for the pub, competing with the other pubs in town.
- Couldn't buy new things for the twins very often, had to mostly get by with hand-me-downs and charity and the like.
- Caoimhe made the best of it, but Doyle started picking pockets to buy little trinkets for his sister and mum.
- Caoimhe & Doyle were very close growing up, each other's best friend, stood up for the other, was there when the other needed them, etc.
- Summer of 1964, a man came to the pub and told the family that Caoimhe and Doyle had magic. Explained things, etc, 1 September they were on the train to Hogwarts.
- Doyle & Caoimhe stuck close to each other the whole trip to Hogwarts and through the sorting ceremony, until it was their turn. After Caoimhe was put in Hufflepuff, Doyle asked to be put there, too, so he could stay close to her. The hat obliged (and was gonna put him there, anyway).
- School was uneventful: Caoimhe did well, Doyle didn't; Caoimhe was responsible, Doyle occasionally got in trouble for stealing things.
- After they finished school in 1971, Doyle managed to scrape together the money to get a dingy little flat on Knockturn Alley; wouldn't let his sister help take care of him (too proud, also didn't want to drag Caoimhe down with him).
- Never got a "real" job, just spends his time on the streets, picking pockets and making counterfeit copies of some of the things he steals, to peddle later.
