History

Alexander was the firstborn son to the Duke of Briarwood and his duchess. He was followed by his brother Leonard when he was three, and a sister Laurel when he was thirteen. As was the custom, Alexander was groomed as the heir and Leonard as the spare (in case something were to happen to Alexander), and Laurel was groomed to be a good marriage prospect to another noble family. While Leonard and Laurel were happy to take their rightful places in the family, Alexander balked at his. Being the heir was just so much work. Even from a young age, he disliked most of the lessons he had to sit through, mostly just the ones pertaining to what his duties would be as the heir and eventual Duke of Briarwood. His riding and fencing lessons were his favorites, because they were fun and exciting.

As soon as Alexander was old enough to start really noticing the fairer sex, that was it for him. His little sister was just a toddler, so it was hard for him to imagine other young men having the same kinds of thoughts about his sister as he was having about other men's sisters. Or doing the things he was doing with them as young as sixteen. Alexander absolutely loved women, but his attention span with them was as short as it was with anything else: so long as they stayed interesting and fun, he was interested in them. If they started hinting at any kind of commitment, he would be gone in a blink. His love for women got him into plenty of trouble, too: while he was always careful to never impregnate any of his bedmates, he was less careful about making sure that the women he wooed were single: he would flirt with and try to pick up any woman, even if her beloved was sitting right next to her. As a result, Alexander was involved in very many fistfights with men defending their women.

He has spent the large bulk of his life in such a manner: shirking his responsibilities, chasing after women, engaging in fights both friendly and not, hunting (he was an avid huntsman), and generally just living his life in as fun of a manner as possible with as few responsibilities as he could manage. Finally, just after the start of his thirtieth year, his parents decided that they'd had enough. Their heir was a disgrace, and they weren't getting any younger, they wanted him to settle down, get married, and bear some heirs of their own. They didn't want to just outright declare Leonard their heir, despite him being better suited to the role, so they sat down with Alexander and struck up a deal with him: he would go to the town of Greenville and live among the common folk for a year. If he still did not learn any responsibility, he would abdicate his claim to the title and allow Leonard to become the heir. Otherwise, if he refused, he would be entirely cut off from the family money.

When faced with either shaping up or losing the easy life he was accustomed to, Alexander grudgingly took his parents up on the deal and packed up to spend a year with the commoners, planning to just have as much fun as he could manage in the small town during his year there and somehow manage to pretend that he had learned responsibilites.

Personality

Quirks: He flexes all the time if there are women around. Or if he catches himself in a reflective surface. He has the attention span of a flea unless a woman or a fight is involved. He'll flirt with anyone female, regardless of whether she is single or not: this has lead to fights where he has been beaten by the woman's beloved.
Motivations: Alex is driven by just one thing: the desire for fun and good times. If he's not having fun, he'll move on. This is also the main reason that his parents have sent him to Greenville.
Weaknesses: Responsibility. Unless it involves taking responsibility for an awesome party, he'll run away from that word. He yawns and grouses and doesn't pay attention when it comes to learning about his family's lands, proclaiming it to be far too boring. He's also not exactly the sharpest sword in the armory. He also has a weakness for women, both in the sense of flirting with any woman, regardless of her availability, and in the sense that he could be easily taken in by a woman who is only after the Wembley money.
Strengths: Alex is skilled in a variety of forms of fighting, mostly swordfighting and fistfighting. And, although he might seem entirely a womanizer, he is still greatly chivalrous: he has had it drummed into his head from the crib that you do not lay a hand upon a woman with any force more than a gentle caress. A decent number of the fights he has been in have been with other men over how they treat women (another good number have been with other men over how Alex has been flirting with their women, but that's something else entirely!).
