History

early life:
- parents met through mutual friends, fell in love, got married
- tried for years to have a baby, had many miscarriages
- Mandy was born shortly after Sarah turned 40 (1980)
- two more miscarriages
- Adam stillborn 1984
- another miscarriage
- healers advised Michael and Sarah to not get pregnant again
- despite that, Sarah got pregnant a final time; high-risk pregnancy, was closely monitored the whole time and on bed-rest for most of the latter half
- difficult birth, Sarah died and Elizabeth was unhealthy and unlikely to live
- Elizabeth survived, but was mentally impaired
- Mandy helped Michael take care of Elizabeth; a nanny/mediwitch was hired to help take care of her

hogwarts:
- Mandy went off to Hogwarts in 1991 (sorted Ravenclaw); could not afford new clothes or books

- November 1997, Elizabeth accidentally started a fire in the house & died
- March 1998, Michael died in Azkaban
- Mandy stayed and fought in the (second) battle of Hogwarts (1998); still has scars on her back and limbs from various curses
