History

At the age of 28, Jack Eyre was a very driven associate in the Providence-based law firm of Williamson, Harvey, and Smith, on his way to being named partner, when he met Melissa Williamson, the eighteen-year-old daughter of one of the partners. Even though everyone frowned upon the idea of getting involved with a partner's daughter, especially one so much younger, Jack and Melissa began dating, a move that cost Jack the partner spot he'd always coveted. So he resigned from the firm and turned instead to the legislative branch of government. In the 2000 election, he was elected as a Congressman for the state of Rhode Island. After serving several terms as a Congressman, in 2014, he was elected as the second Senator of Rhode Island, alongside Republican B. Pryor Caley. Jack is presently serving his third term as Senator.

In 1999, Jack and Melissa were married, and in 2006 they welcomed twins Halcyon and Ashford. The family was picture-perfect, the tall and imposing Senator Eyre, his young, beautiful, and perky wife Melissa, and their two adorable blonde-haired twin children. Jack wasn't going to let anyone or anything change that picture. In June of 2007, Melissa took the twins to New York City and unknowingly gave them contaminated water to drink, before the contamination hit the news (so this was on the morning of the 13th). When news of the contamination spread and people were being found to be mutants as a result, a tearful Melissa informed Jack that she'd given their children water the morning of the contamination. Jack brought in a private doctor to examine the children and he confirmed that they were mutants. The doctor was then paid off and threatened to never tell anyone about the twins and to destroy any record of them being mutants.

Halcyon and Ashford were raised knowing that they were mutants and knowing that they must keep their powers quiet. They attended a private boarding school in upstate New York, but they remained the picture of perfect children for the press. For the press being the key words. When Halcyon — Hallie to everyone — discovered what she could do with her powers, she began sneaking around and doing some underground street fighting. She quickly built a name for herself as Tyr (after the Norse God of single combat and heroic glory), using wash-out hair color to dye her naturally blonde hair black when fighting and using heavy makeup to disguise her features. As Hallie, she pursued an interest in political science and often proclaimed that she would follow her father into the legislative world.

After graduating from their boarding school, Hallie and Ash both opted to attend Springfield Heights University, despite both having been accepted to several Ivy League schools. Hallie preferred a smaller school where she could make a greater impact, and at the end of her junior year (during which she had served as Vice President of the student government) she was elected as the President of SHU's Student Government for the coming year (2027-2028).
