History

Isabella Tayson was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Not literally, because that would be very painful for her mother. Plus, it would raise a question as to how that silver spoon got into the womb in the first place. Actually, Isabella was the only child born to Richard and Lorraine Tayson before they divorced in 1990. In 1994, her father married a nineteen-year-old secretary in his law firm. Isabella was horrified at the fact that her father married a girl who was only nine years older than she herself was, so she chose to live with her mother. In 1996, Lorraine remarried as well, but unlike her ex-husband, she didn't go for cradle-robbing: she married a forty-year-old divorced advertising executive, who brought his seventeen-year-old son Jackson into the marriage. Isabella was fascinated by her new older brother, especially because he and her new step-father treated her like a precious little princess. Isabella soaked up the attention happily. This was exactly how she deserved to be treated, after all.

In her last year at Nightingale-Bamford School (a private all-female university-prep school), Isabella applied to New York University. She liked books and reading, and she thought that majoring in english would be totally perfect because then she could read books all through school and actually get credit for it! Much as she loved to read, Isabella was more than just a bit ditzy, and she has a tendency to not think things all the way through. Her grades at NBS weren't entirely spectacular in comparison to her classmates', but thanks to her parents' (all three of them except her step-mother) strings and connections, she got into NYU. In her second semester, she joined the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority. She was a legacy, as both her mother and grandmother were Delta Phi Epsilon alumnae. She fully enjoyed sorority life, and it gave her a reason to keep her grades up. She graduated from NYU with a 3.78 GPA in May of 2007, but she had no idea what to do with her life. She was still dating her boyfriend, Michael Harrison (now in the middle of his first year at NYU's Law School), and she figured that she didn't have to get a job because surely they would be getting married eventually.

So after college, she moved back into her mom and step-dad's home on the Upper East Side, and mostly just luxuriated in the lap of her family's wealth for several months, until all of her parents started putting pressure on her in December to get a job. Isabella begrudgingly began a job search, even though she had never worked a day in her life. After much searching — and help on her search from her dads and step-brother — Isabella scored an interview at Spent Magazine. She was completely amazed when she got the job as a receptionist for the magazine, and she happily took it.
